Matters
of the heart
It's
an evening of candlelight, wine and roses. It's an evening of love and
romance. It's also an evening when, amidst the cards and the poetry and
the boxes of chocolate, there can be too much pressure to get
everything right. After all, most... [ January 22, 2008 ]
Ted
Kelley was amazed by the turnout of his Fourth of July party this year.
About 75 people arrived at his house. They mingled, swam, hung out in
the hot tub and watched the Spirit of Freedom fireworks show. They had
a front-row seat for the show. [ July 29, 2007 ]

Saturday
and Sunday we set up to see the Indian Mound (largest in the state) and
museum, the Birthplace of W C Handy, (the father of the Blues), Pope's
Tavern and Museum, (oldest structure in the town), Wilson Dam
and the world's highest single lift lock, Helen Keller
birthplace, Part of the Natchez Trace, Karsner-Kennedy Home,
Kennedy-Douglas Center for the Arts, and the University of North
Alabama, a totally restored Frank Lloyd Wright designed house, (only
one in AL), AL Music Hall of Fame, and other attractions. One
we especially enjoyed was a fully original Italian Trattoria
on Court street downtown that knows the only way to serve hot
buns/rolls is in brown paper bags.
I
have no stock in this town, just totally enjoyed the entire scene and
wanted to pass it on to the Loopers heading this
way. Terry and Eva are extremely gracious hosts during the
week and Dan will take care of you during the weekend.
Enjoy!!!!!!

friendly staff and we look forward to visiting again. Please tell
everyone that makes this possible.
